We’ve grown used to it. That’s the trick. What once shocked now barely registers, and policymakers have drawn the obvious conclusion: keep pushing. And we, like good little cattle, keep moving along.
But here’s the one certainty you can stake your last coin on: those in charge never notice when they overstep. They cannot. They’re addicts, always needing one more hit, one more payout for their backers, one more round of the great scam.
One more project, gilded with taxpayer gold. One more subsidy, flung at useless trash. One more policy tilted toward the Fingsters—the financial gangsters who will not rest until they’ve wrung the last pound of flesh. The politicians take their cut too, clumsy parasites feeding on the same carcass.There’s no grand plan. They’re not strategic, only greedy. They will overshoot because that’s what addicts do.
