Methane Rising: The Fuel Nobody Saw Coming

Apparently, the future was supposed to run on hydrogen, batteries and a generous supply of technological miracles. Reality, having declined the invitation, has instead handed us methane. It powers ships, trucks, grids and rockets while the wonder drugs remain busy explaining why they will work eventually.

Methane and the End of the Green Dream

The renewable future is proceeding beautifully, provided nobody asks whether the lights stay on, the subsidies remain affordable or people actually want giant wind turbines outside their windows. Fortunately, civilisation has a backup plan. It is called methane. It has been sitting underground for millions of years, patiently waiting for politics to finish rediscovering economics.
